Hey there everyone! This summer I became completely obsessed with Prada sunglasses through scrolling on Pinterest. I love the classy and sophisticated vibe! I had also been searching for a solid pair of plastic sunglasses for a hot sec. I love my Raybans Andrew bought me TO DEATH, but every time I wear them on my head they rip my hair out. I also get worried wearing them to the beach or anywhere where I'm moving around too much because I feel like the aviator style is so fragile! I was totally in the market for a thick and classic pair of plastic sunnies.
I spent a lot of time on Pinterest pinning Prada sunglasses all summer. When I was on the plane to Indianapolis to give a presentation to my company's CEO, COO, and VPs, I decided to bribe myself: If I nailed this presentation, and I mean seriously 10/10 crush it, I can buy myself these sunglasses. I was completely freaking out over this presentation, so I was desperate for anything that would give me confidence.
Long story short, I probably gave the best presentation of my entire life. I'm still shocked to this day how amazing I did under sooo much pressure. I had everybody cracking up laughing and enjoying my presentation. I felt like I was putting on a show! Moral of this story: the Prada glasses were purchased 3 days later. :)))))
After being even more obsessed than I was expecting, I am going to give you guys the top 5 reasons (because I could go on forever) why these Prada sunglasses are the perfect designer splurge.
1. Timeless & Classy
These glasses are so incredibly chic. In my opinion, they are a staple pair of glasses that will never truly go out of style. They're just so classy and sophisticated while being trendy and a little edgy. These sunglasses do it ALL!
2. Designer but Affordable
Yes, these are a pricier pair of glasses. But for this brand, this is a great splurge if you want to treat yourself to designer and get something a little more special. We all deserve a treat every once in a while, am I right?! Also hot tip- these glasses are $520 on the Prada website but only $420 on Sunglass Hut. The girl in the store told me that that's only going to be the case for a little longer... that ALONE is a reason to buy these babies immediately. When the girl in Sunglass Hut told me about the price difference AND that they had one pair left in the store, I knew I wasn't leaving without them.
3. Trendy
Although these glasses are totally timeless, they are also totally on trend. This shape/style of glasses has been more and more popular lately but has been trending for a while now. I've seen so many celebrities wearing Prada glasses even on the red carpet. Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker rocked matching Prada glasses at the Grammys this year! Search "Prada sunglasses" on Pinterest for tonssss of style inspo.
4. Wearability
Like I mentioned, I LOVE my Raybans, but they always get stuck in my hair when I slide them on my head (which I do a LOT). These are the perfect pair of plastic sunglasses to wear on your head without pulling your hair. They are also super thick and I'm never worried about them bending or breaking. I love my aviators, but I'm always stressed about them snapping. If these aren't on my face, they're on my head.
Also, these totally go with literally EVERY outfit. I have worn these with super cute outfits and literally looking homeless on the way to Starbucks. No matter what I pair my Prada sunglasses with, they are such a staple and elevate my look instantly.
5. Solid & Durable
You might be hesitant to splurge for designer on a pair of sunglasses. But like I mentioned a little already, these glasses are so solid and durable. The sides are really thick plastic and extremely sturdy. I feel so much better about throwing these on my head or onto my shirt than I would with aviators. These are definitely more of a durable pair of glasses that you won't constantly be afraid to bend or break. I already know that I'm going to get so many years of wear out of these glasses.
