Hey there everyone!! I wanted to squeeze in another fashion/outfit post before another series of travel was coming your way. I'm not completely sure everyone enjoys the travel content AS MUCH as the fashion content, but I really just enjoy documenting the trips and organizing the photos in a post to look back on.
Today's post is inspired by mine and Andrew's new favorite date night: Pirate's games. We went to one a few weeks ago and had such a fun time. We are headed back again soon, I think actually before this post will even go up!
Since we're headed back to PNC Park, I got inspired to do a baseball game outfit post as I was putting together mine. (Take a guess which of these outfits I'm going to be wearing on Monday in the comments!) These outfits are obviously not only inclusive towards baseball games, but are cute outfits for any sporting event or just in general. I put together 6 versatile looks to inspire anyone needing some ideas for an outfit.
This outfit is a super simple and casual outfit that you can accessorize however you want. I'd probably add a hat with this outfit and a cute matching bag. This outfit is comfy but still cute and trendy. It's also more geared to a hot day, which you definitely have to consider when planning an outfit. You also have to make sure you consider the time of the game, because even if it's July and 80 degrees, as soon as the sun sets it can get pretty chilly. For late night games I'd definitely recommend trying some sort of flannel or jacket around your waist just to be safe. I love this look and it's so easy to recreate with any white tank/tee and some jean shorts.
button down / top / belt / shorts / vans
This outfit is sooo classy and actually so simple- I'm obsessed with it. I would say this is the perfect in-between for a nicer date night and something more casual. It's seriously so simple to dress up basically the same base as Outfit 1 with some nice accessories. This is another outfit I'd say is for a hotter/later game, and the button down worn as a jacket is such a trend. This outfit is definitely the most trendy/boujee of all of these choices, perfect for a date night or a girl's night. All of these outfits can easily be done with simple items that mostly everyone has in their closet.
This is what I wore when Andrew and I went to our first game! We went to a 7:05 game when it was only about 65 degrees out. I decided to go with some black ripped jeans, a black body suit, a Pirate's jersey I've had for years, and a Pirate's hat. I was worried I'd still be chilly after Andrew showed up wearing long sleeves, so I grabbed a jean jacket and am SO glad I did. It ended up being such a cute layered look with the jersey and denim. Jeans and a denim jacket can simply never go wrong. I forgot to add shoes in the photos but I wore this with the same black and white checkered Vans, for a super Pirate's/Pittsburgh fan vibe.

This is definitely one of the fancier options. I'd say that this is a good outfit if you're going on a date or you just like to dress a little nicer and wear heels. This is also perfect for an evening game and if you're going to get dinner or drinks before/after. This outfit is just a casual top paired with some straight leg jeans and heels. I added the leather jacket for some texture and a little edge. I love the effect a classic leather jacket can have to an outfit!
This adorable outfit is another one that can be good for a super hot game when you don't even feel like wearing shorts. Sometimes cute little sun dresses are just breezier! I'd wear this going to a game with my family or maybe for a day game date. I love how this Altar'd State dress goes perfectly with the Pirate's colors. It's still festive but a much girlier choice. And I'm COMPLETELY obsessed with my high-top platform all-white Converse. I'm pretty sure I had to custom build these on the website, but it was def worth it. Customize the custom platform Chuck Taylors on the site and make everything all white, even the logo on the side. For a night game I would definitely tie my leather jacket around my waist with this dress, I love the look of this with some leather.
hat / tank / biker shorts / shoes
This is by far the most casual/comfy option if you aren't feeling like getting too dressed up. Pair a simple tank with some biker shorts and tennis shoes and accessorize with a hat if it's going to be sunny. I would probably wear my Pirate's hat or this cute Pittsburgh one. There is definitely nothing wrong with going casual, especially if it's going to be too hot to put in much effort. This is usually what I wear to my siblings' sporting events.
I hope this post will come in handy for some summer outfit inspiration, not just for baseball games. But if you haven't been to one this summer, I 100% recommend you do. A lot of people don't even realize that they're happening at a decent size capacity. Because of that, we were able to sit so comfortable throughout the game and weren't too close to anybody. I am so excited to go to more games throughout the summer.
And pro tip: check out Stubhub for some super cheap tickets. Andrew and I spent $40 for each ticket and we were sitting super close to the field. I think the closer you wait to the game, the cheaper they get too. You can find tickets for like $15 on Stubhub.
