Ciao from Italy! Boy, has it been a minute! I am starting my third (!!!!) month in Milan studying abroad. It is going so strangely fast but also so strangely slow at the same time. I am definitely having the experience of a lifetime. We've visited places throughout Italy as well as Switzerland, France, the UK, and much more to come.
Unfortunately, I am here today to give you a sad little update about the blog. A few weeks ago I popped on to write a blog post about Rome, one of our first trips. I put together an entire post about what we did, what we saw, where we ate, and more in Rome for the 24 hours we were there. In doing so, I noticed that my media files said they were full.
This was weird to me because I've never seen my media storage say full before and I've been uploading photos on here for 2+ years now. I had previously deleted a few things from the folder, but never anything major. I had mostly every image or graphic from the last few years in the media folder.
I didn't know if I was suddenly being limited on storage because my computer was recognizing I was in a different country or wix.com had made some changes to their subscription storage options in the new year. Long story short, I deleted *everything* from my files thinking that since I had done it a few times before and because the photos had all been uploaded to the site they'd all be fine.
Welp, I was very wrong. So now all of my photos throughout the last 2+ years on this blog are gone. :// Thankfully the words are all still there, but all of the photos and graphics won't load. I was on the phone with wix today hoping that this wasn't actually the case and that it really was because I'm in Italy, but it very well was what happened.
I am not usually somebody who does things like this! I am always so careful with what I delete or don't delete and I just can't believe in one fair swoop I deleted everything just for a singular post about Rome. I am so frustrated that hours and hours of work editing graphics and uploading photos is now totally lost.
But there't nothing I can do about this now, so I'm trying to proceed on a positive note. I now have lots of free storage to update you all about my time in Italy! I am going to make a few updates to the blog as well because I feel like I've grown out of it a little. I just want to make things reflect my personality the best they can.
With that all being said, I appreciate everyone who reads my silly little blog posts and has looked at all of those photos/graphics throughout the past 2+ years that I truly did put so much effort and energy and passion into.
I am somehow feeling motivated from this happening- like I have a fresh canvas in a sense! I hope I can up my game now for you all and get back to documenting my life through my blog. :)
Thanks as always for reading!
Talk VERY soon. ;)
Bella
