Hi everyone! I am back from my year late Ocean City trip with my friends! The weather wasn't the best, but we made the best out of the crappy days and thoroughly enjoyed the nice ones!
Like my Arizona travel blog, I'm basically just going to go through what we did each day. These sorts of posts are honestly more for myself so I can look back at all the memories from travel. With that being said, I really hope you guys can all enjoy reading this as well. I'm going to include all the outfits I wore along with restaurant reviews! I ended up going shopping right before we left, so a lot of the outfits changed from the ones I packed in my Pack With Me post.
I diddddd film a vlog! It is basically just a video version of this post, minus outfit details. I am in the process of exporting and uploading, however it seems to be taking forever, haha. I promise I will get it to you all at some point very soon.
With all of that being said, I'm going to get into all of the deets about out trip!! :)
DAY 1
hat / top / shorts / sweatshirt / shoes
This is not my greatest photo haha, my mom took this puffied-face photo of me at 8:00 Sunday morning as we were packing up my car. I had dreams the night before that we couldn't fit all of our bags in my trunk, so I ran down and started scheming how I was going to pack stuff as soon as I woke up. Olivia, Katie, and Mina arrived shortly after and we got everything in perfectly- but it definitely was tight!
We left around 8:20 and stopped for Starbucks. We began the 6 hour and 20 minute drive to Ocean City, MD. We stopped a few times for pee breaks, once for gas, and once for lunch. There was some traffic leading up to the Bay Bridge and on the Ocean City bridge, but besides that the drive was pretty easy and went by decently fast.
We got to the hotel around 3:40 and had a small issue checking in. We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott and had an okay experience. When I was checking in, the front desk lady said their system had been acting up and that our reservation had been cancelled. After a delay and a few calls to her manager, he was able to figure things out and we finally got our room keys and headed up to the room to unpack.
The weather the first day was gorgeous. I hadn't originally expected us to go to the beach that day, thinking I was going to need a nap after driving. But we got there so early and excitement was high, so we ran down to the beach for a few hours and I napped there!
We went back to the room around 7-7:30 and we showered, ordered pizza, and hung out for awhile. Katie and Mina went for a walk on the boardwalk and Olivia and I relaxed in the room. I was pretty tired after such a long day and fell asleep as soon as we turned off the lights.
DAY 2
We woke up to some pretty unfortunate weather on Monday morning. It was cloudy, cold, and about to rain. We trudged down to the Starbucks a block from our hotel for breakfast and coffee. After eating, we looked for something we could do during the day while it was raining and found an outlet mall a few minutes from our hotel. We drove there as it began raining harder, and walked around through stores for an hour or two to waste some time.
By then the rain had mostly stopped, so we headed back to the hotel and decided to get ready and take some pictures by a cute row of beach houses we noticed on the drive across the bridge. We had also bought matching satin robes from Etsy with our names customized on them! They're technically bridal robes and come in so many different colors and fonts. We snapped some pics in them as we got ready. I'll link the Etsy shop here! I got my robe in the champagne color with the 11 font in white. We felt and looked like bridesmaids, LOL!
After our little robe photoshoot we got dressed and headed over to our cute photo location. The rain had cleared up and because the beach houses were all white, the lighting was perfect! It was pretty windy but we worked around it and got the cutest pictures!!
Then we found a shop on the boardwalk that had the cutest OC MD stuff all under $9.99. We all got some merch and then headed to an Italian restaurant on the boardwalk as well. The food was super good but it was a little cold and we had to sit on the outside portion. Another random thing we learned about Ocean City is that you have to specifically ask to split checks, and some places will refuse to split checks over a certain number of people. Here are pics of Olivia with John F. Kennedy and Katie with Marilyn Monroe!
We headed back to the room to warm up after eating and freezing our butts off. We showered and put on all of our new Ocean City bucket hats and shirts!
DAY 3
We woke up on Tuesday hoping for better weather, but sadly were given another cold, cloudy, and rainy day. Mina walked to a coffee shop down the boardwalk a bit and me, Katie, and Olivia stopped at Starbucks to start off the day. We decided to get matching sweatshirts made from the same store we had seen the day before. Shoutout to Lucas, who we met walking past a restaurant. I also got sh*t on by a bird. We walked down almost the entire boardwalk and got our matching little sweatsuits made with an Ocean City, MD design we picked out!
We also took a photo in the iconic Ocean City giant chair. Then we took pictures for the sweetest couple celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.
After that we relaxed in the hotel room for awhile and decided to attempt to take some more pictures where we had the day before. They didn't turn out the greatest and we were freezing because we packed clothing expecting 80 degree days. It was extra unfortunate because up until Monday, the weather was supposed to be perfect every day.
After our picture fail, we went back to the hotel and had a small lunch while changing into our adorable matching sets again. We watched Crazy Stupid Love and had some relaxation time before heading out to dinner at a Mexican restaurant. Then we walked around on the boardwalk to check out the night life. Since it was a Tuesday and still early in the summer, nothing was really happening. We got some ice cream and headed back to the room for the rest of the night.
DAY 4
Wednesday was allegedly supposed to be the only truly nice day we were going to get. We got up at 5:15am to get on the beach and see the sunrise. We wanted to take pictures in our matching sweatshirts, too. The pics didn't turn out the greatest because all of our faces were so tired and puffy, hahahaha. It was also still pretty cloudy, so they weren't exactly your typical pastel sunrise photos.
After pictures, me, Katie, and Olivia fell back asleep in the room for a few hours and Mina got coffee and breakfast. When we woke up we walked across the street to a super cute açaí bowl place. The bowls were delish and such a great way to start the day.
At this point, it was starting to get sunny and warmer! FINALLY. We got back to the room, put our suits on, and went to the beach for hours.
After relaxing and enjoying some good weather, we headed back to the room around 4 and showered and got ready for dinner and more pictures! We started taking pictures on the balcony and took more around the hotel and on the boardwalk. We went to a restaurant right near our hotel where we had seen Lucas earlier the day before. It was a seafood place and they had mocktails! I got lobster mac n cheese minus the lobster (#lactoovovegetarian) and a lemonade refresher mocktail.
After eating, we headed back to the hotel. Olivia and I jumped in the hot tub for a minute, only to find that it was only a "conversation pool" rather than a legitimate hot tub. Then we all showered and packed up some of our things. We spent the rest of the night joking around and talking in the room.
DAY 5
Not sure I should even count Thursday as a "day", but we woke up, packed, checked out, got Starbucks, and were headed home by 9am. The drive home was way easier than the drive there because there was way less traffic and the GPS didn't take me through all the weird back roads in Delaware. For some reason it was more of a straight shot on the way back!
We stopped once for gas and once for lunch at Panera. We got back home at 4pm and were all pretty freaking exhausted, hahaha.
That is pretty much everything! I am super thankful that we had the opportunity to go on this trip. Even though the weather didn't always cooperate, we still made lots of memories and got to spend so much time together. Thanks for having us, Ocean City!
I am still trying to figure out how to upload the vlog. I'll throw it in as a separate post as soon as I work out the technical difficulties. I hope you all enjoy it!!
Thanks as always for reading today's post. I hope you enjoyed reading our Ocean City adventure! I am so happy to have it documented on the blog, especially for me and my friends to look back on. :)

Bella
