Hi everyone! I am coming at you from Phoenix this week!! I just flew here after wrapping up my internship in Indianapolis last week. I feel so grateful for the experience I had this summer but am very ready for some relaxation! While Andrew finishes up his work, I will be lounging by the pool, reading, napping, blogging, and all the self-care. We head to LA next weekend for a little more fun too!
I am so pumped to finally have the time to put together a blog post. I've been missing the blog so much. I love creating fun content but I also love capturing snippets of what I'm up to every time I sit down to write a post.
Today I am bringing you a summer picks post! These are all of my favorite summer items lately. Please keep in mind that I've been pretty boring this summer because I was so busy with work (aka no time to shop)... but I still wanted to share the classic items that I've been loving lately. Let's get into my summa picks! :)
Starting off with my most recent splurge... PRADA SUNGLASSES. I mean, how much more iconic can you get? I love love love my Raybans that Andrew and I got last summer but I've been wanting a plastic pair to wear on my head. The little prongs on the radiator style glasses always get stuck in my hair. I had been seeing these glasses ALLLLL over Pinterest and knew I needed to get a pair.
So story time: I told myself that if I nailed my final internship presentation in Indy I could buy myself these glasses. I was literally making myself sick over the presentation. I was so nervous to talk in front of my company's HQ and the CEO and COO that had never seen me before. I was one of the 2 of 13 interns that worked outside of Indiana, so I was really feeling the pressure. Luckily, I usually do well under pressure. I really wanted my personality to show so I included funny Snapchats of me and lots of jokes throughout the powerpoint. I just had no idea how some of the people would take my jokes! Well... I probably gave the best presentation of my life and had all of the VPs cracking up. I felt like I was giving a performance! I'm not sure if it was because of how many times I practiced OR the bribe I had with myself... but either way = Prada glasses purchased.
Andrew and I were in a Sunglass Hut because I wanted to try them on before I potentially bought them at Prada in LA next weekend. They ended up being CHEAPER at Sunglass Hut because they're technically resale from Prada! They are still the legit Prada glasses but I probably saved $100+ in the end just from buying them at Sunglass Hut before they had a chance to raise the price! I took that as a sign that I am meant to own these beauties. :)
I got multiple of these sets from Amazon to wear to work this summer. I am literally so obsessed with them I need them in every color. I have this olive green color and a black striped one as well. It's such a trendy little outfit and so easy to throw on because it comes as a set. I wore this on the beach as a beach cover-up, I wore it to a fancy dinner, a non-fancy dinner, and my 9-6. It is seriously sooo versatile and will definitely have you looking like a trendy bitch this summer!
I've also been loving this Amazon workout set. I've spend the money on all of the expensive sets and sometimes those ones are worth a little extra cash. But this Amazon one is such amazing quality and I like it more than most of my expensive sets... and it's only $29.99. They have a ton of super cute and fun colors too.
These cloud slides are also the trend right now! I have a pair of pink ones from awhile ago but I definitely will be ordering these in nude! They're super comfy and you'll look like a Pinterest girl in them.
My Gucci slides have been my go-to shoe this summer. They are the perfect work shoe! I wore my pink ones all the time at work and they elevate every outfit instantly. For summer and fashion purposes alone they're amazing! I wore these all vacation too and they go with everything. I'm planning on buying the white pair as soon as I get my commission check from all of my leases! 🤪
As you guys already know from my last post, I'm obsessed with silk scarves this summer. I have way too many now... LOL. They're so inexpensive on Amazon and you can create so many different outfits with them. I want to make another post with 3 MORE ways to wear them!!
This is really an every day pick for me, but I have to throw in my favorite self-tanner. It is seriously soooo bad for your skin to tan in the sun. I use this 2 hour express mouse from Loving Tan and get the best tan ever and in a much safer way. The sun is no joke people!! I actually have had allergic reactions to sun exposure before... so please get some of this to tan instead!
If you're not a fan of the mouse, I also love the Tanologist tanning water from Target. It doesn't stain nearly as much and is sometimes a little more natural and lighter. It totally just depends on what kind of tan you like! :)
And going off of that... it is super important to protect your skin from the sun with SPF! This daily moisturizer from Florence has SPF 30 already built in. It's such an amazing way to keep your skin protected every day and isn't an added step if you already moisturize.
I recently got this pack of under-eye patches from Florence too! I love them so much. They're the de-puffing gel pads that I definitely need after a summer working!! I also love how they come in this little container with 30 sets of patches!! The lid even has a little applicator spoon that you can use to grab a fresh clean set out from the container. I'm obsessed and Andrew and I will be doing these multiple times this week.
