My 2020 Recap!

Hi everyone!! I hope you all had a great Christmas! I took a few days off from the blog this week to enjoy time with my family and friends! I already only have a month left at home!

For today's post (probably the last one of 2020), I put together some of my favorite moments of 2020. I chose a picture or two from every month just to highlight this crazy year. Even though it wasn't what ANYBODY was expecting, 2020 was a huge year for me! I had surgery, graduated high school, left for college, and so much more. This is my small way of parting ways with 2020, so I hope you all enjoy!

I know sometimes it's hard to think of the positives when the world seems to be in shambles, but this is a great reminder to look at the good and cherish every happy moment you can!

JANUARY

2020 started off great for me. January was a blast. I started off the New Year with Andrew and spent some of the best days with my friends. I got my hair trimmed and ate lots of food! I went out to Ichiban with my mom and sisters for my mom's birthday and played in the McDonald's playhouse with my friends. These pictures are from the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh when I went with Katie and Mia. This night was super fun. Katie and I recreated this picture we took on a field trip freshman year and then we ran through the rain on the way back to the car. We finished the night off with more Ichiban (clearly I'm a fan) and had a sleepover at my house... where Mina got a frozen pizza stuck in my mini oven and shotgunned a bubly in our guest room shower. I finished the month off with a tour of John Carroll via Olivia and her sister Courtney.

FEBRUARY

I turned 18 in February!! And developed a slight gambling addiction in the process. You will never get me to admit how much I spent on scratch-offs and lottery tickets. My mom, sisters, and I celebrated at Ichiban (again!?), NatuRoll, and Top Golf! Angelena took me to Cheesecake Factory🤤 Andrew and I had a super sweet FaceTime Valentine's Day and he sent me chocolate covered strawberries. Mina and I became the Pardoner and the Summoner. Katie, Olivia, Allie, Jacob, and I went to Pittsburgh to celebrate and took these awesome pictures at The Pennsylvanian. And to top off everything, Katie and I went to the Post Malone concert, which was hands down one of the best nights of my entire life. I am so happy we were able to go before the world went to sh*t!

This video gives me legit chills.

MARCH

March started off great. I was working at my dad's office, Fire & Ice, AND babysitting regularly. Bella was bringing in the big bucks. I surprised Andrew at the airport when he came home for spring break and asked him to prom! We had talked about it a few times over the phone and he always told me he knew I was going to do it during spring break (which I originally wasn't going to do because it was still so early) and he said he wanted to be really surprised. So I talked to his mom and sisters and thought that this was the best way to do it! He was definitely not expecting to see me at the airport, hahaha. Peep the Spongebob inspired prom sign. It's super random, idk why I went with a Spongebob theme but I hand-painted it and it turned out SO CUTE. On one of the last days of school, Mina and I did a MacBeth presentation with mini squirt guns that was iconic to say the least. Olivia and I unknowingly put together a birthday video for Mina on March 13th where we captured basically the entire last day. We had no idea it was going to be the last normal day we'd ever spend in the high school, but now we have so much of it on video. Andrew and I went on dates, I FaceTimed Angelena and the baby, and we began online school. The world shut down too. NBD. And to finish off the month, Andrew and I celebrated our 6-month anniversary watching the sunset with Saga takeout in the back of my car. :')

APRIL

April was full of lotsss of car meetups in my driveway! We took social distancing very seriously. I gave Andrew a Bucknell hoodie for his birthday and had a major freakout going inside Target for the first time. I vlogged a lot. We had our quarantined Easter, which was obviously unlike any holiday ever before. I started to really get into my Sociology class and I ended up enjoying all of the online assignments we had to do. I crushed and got extra credit on an assignment watching Mulan. I painted and reminisced. Looked at prom dresses, hoping not all hope was lost, lol. I started making really cute custom weekly calendars for me and my sisters with all of our classes on them. My sisters and I bleach dyed tank tops and sweatpants from Walmart. Andrew and I went to Sonic- he was a first timer. We found out for sure that we were spending the rest of the year online. I cried for an entire day and watched Keeping Up with the Kardashians between tears, taking a break only to pick up Pizza Hut. Dramatic as usual. Saw Andrew. Made TikToks. The depths of quarantine! I made lots of cookies in April, hahahaha. The highlight was definitely when my friends and I had a DIY drive-in movie night in the driveway. We watched High School Musical 3 and I made each of us sugar cookies decorated with our college colors.

MAY

May was a big month for me! My friends and I had a boob party, with the cookie cake compliments of Jacob and the Giant Eagle bakery. This was in celebration of my breast reduction on May 7th! This party day was absolutely hilarious and full of laughs. My surgery was honestly a piece of cake. Besides the fact that it took me hours to pee in a cup before the nurses gave up on me and took me back anyways. ANDDD besides the fact that I fainted when my surgeon was drawing on my boobs with a purple marker. Recovery was tough for like a day maybe and then I was doing really great. Olivia's dad made me a fathead of myself during my recovery! Olivia and Katie both visited me and brought me gifts. So did so many of my family members. Andrew visited on what would have been our prom day, and I took this hilarious picture of him with my fathead while I was wrapped up in gauze on the couch! There were lots of visits, TV watching, and talk about boobs in my house. By the end of the month I was sitting by the pool in my old bathing suits I could never fit into drinking Starbucks😎 May was life changing for me.

👩🏻‍🎓JUNE👩🏻‍🎓

In June I virtually attended my last day of high school. I even made up a spirit week with Olivia to celebrate the final week of school. I GRADUATED. How in the heck. Instead of walking across a stage, I walked through the Mars High School parking lot and received my diploma. Even though it wasn't what I ever expected, it was an unreal experience. I took great pictures with my friends, family, and Andy. I got a free graduation cake thanks to Eva and Johnny. I'll never forget June 12th! We even had a small get-together here afterwards, since we were limited to one parking spot at the school. My grandparents came and we celebrated with lotsss of food. My friends came over later and we got Sheetz at like 10pm on an alumni joyride! I spent the rest of June relaxing and trying to take it all in. We started shopping for my dorm, which was insane. I never really realized how much stuff I was going to need until we were walking around Target with 3 shopping carts full of "essentials". I went to Cheesecake Factory with Olivia and Katie and we left a nasty Yelp review because of our moldy bread. Andrew took me to the outlets and I got a beautiful white Kate Spade purse named Kimberly. We had a super cute date night and went to Burgatory. Olivia and Katie and I went to Denny's. Olivia and I went golfing and had dinner at the country club. I shopped for Father's Day, held the baby in her cute little bathing suit, and bought a big sunhat. Andrew and I spent another monthly anniversary mini golfing and going to Patron's and watching the Outer Banks. Olivia and I even spent a day at our favorite Cleveland beach.

JULY

July was another crazy full month! We started off on the 4th of July with a family barbecue. The baby was adorbs again in her bathing suit. Afterwards my mom, sister, Olivia, and I went to see fireworks in Adams Park. Olivia slept over and we went in the hot tub! Andrew came over to swim, Gemma hung out in her shit room (iykyk), and my friends and I spent the afternoon in Sewickley and got Bravo's! That was one of my favorite days with Olivia and Katie all summer. I took a picture of myself for my Bucknell ID and got my Bucknell Freeman College of Management backpack in the mail!! Andrew came over at 4:30am one morning to see the Planetary Gathering in the sky, which we did not see at all. We think we maybe saw Jupiter, hahaha. Olivia and I painted a Hawaiian-themed party table! It took us HOURS. I had a scarring incident with epoxy. We all celebrated Amelia's first birthday and then I rushed home to get ready for fake prom! My friends and I all got dressed up and took pictures at a little Nature Preserve near my house. Then we came back here and swam and had a Hawaiian-themed after party! It was so so so much fun and I'm so glad we did it. And after all of that, we had my grad party, which was another one of my favorite days of all time. It was so much fun and my mom made everything perfect. We had a food truck that was delish, a hilarious DJ, and took amazing pictures at my DIY photo booth.

AUGUST

August was crazy and went way too fast. We started off the month at two of my best friends' grad parties. On my half birthday we went on our final outing together. We walked through Pittsburgh to The Point to take pictures, which are some of my favorite photos ever. We even went to dinner and destroyed like 5 cups of queso at Condado's in Pittsburgh. Andrew and I went out for our fake 1 year anniversary, since the real day was going to be in September when we were both at school. We ate really yummy pizza at Roland's in the Strip District and went to Station Square afterwards to take tripod anniversary pictures. Andrew is such a trooper to put up with me sometimes, hahaha. It was one of the cutest date nights ever. The next day I packed up all of my stuff into my mom's car. Said lots of very sad goodbyes. I went to Andrew's to say bye to his family and he took me to our sunset spot on the way home. I cried SO MUCH it was so dramatic and snotty. I pulled out of the driveway with my mom on August 13th to head to Bucknell and get a COVID test. We stayed in a hotel that night and met up with the rest of my family to move me into my dorm on August 14th. Lots more tears on that day. But I was settled into my dorm. OMG. College gal, no big deal. I spent the first few days/weeks at school exploring with Brenna and getting the hang of classes and orientation meetings. I missed my family, friends, and Andy but I was really happy and ready to be there. August was full of homework, reading, FaceTimes, Bucknell sunsets, online shopping, and a visit from my mom and Gemma!

SEPTEMBER

September is such a blur haha. I spent the month meeting new people, tackling my first semester at school, and starting to miss my friends and family. Brenna and I tasted almost every restaurant in downtown Lewisburg in a matter of weeks, haha. We went on lots of walks, which is one of the things I honestly miss most about being at school. I even snuck home for Memorial Day weekend and wore colored wigs in the hot tub with my friends. I decorated my dorm for fall, Juliana moved in (late August or early September I can't remember), Andrew made his cute song on SoundCloud, I online shopped (too much), and wrote lots of essays. My mom, sisters, and grandma came up to visit and see the campus. Andrew and I FaceTimed a LOT. And we celebrated our 1 year anniversary with a FaceTime Netflix party date.

OCTOBER

October was another great month. I made new friends, met more people, and finally got the hang of making dorm room cuisine. I was still working out and walking almost every day, which I'd been doing pretty much the entire time I was at school. Lots of FaceTimes. And Olivia visited Bucknell! We had such a blast. I showed her around, we ate LOTS of good food, went to a pumpkin patch, a party, and got matching engagement rings from Walmart. We went to the iconic Bucknell breakfast spot and she headed home after a weekend full of fun. I had a geology field trip on the side of the road, started buying Christmas gifts online, and snuck home for another weekend! I booked my plane tickets for Arizona!!!!! I started making great veggie tacos, burritos, salads, and more in my dorm. Brenna and I walked to Dunkin Donuts. So did Juliana and I. Someone got into our room one night and peed on our floor. NBD. Some COVID madness came and my grandpa ended up picking me up for the semester! Big thanks to Brenna for helping carry all 8 million of my bags down the stairs of Swartz!! Olivia and I dressed as Daphne and Velma and Bratz dolls for Halloween. It was a crazy month! But I was happy to be home 3 weeks early.

NOVEMBER

I started the blog in November! One of the happiest decisions ever. I did lots of blogging, Target shopping, and picked my classes for next semester. Olivia, Katie, and I went to Sewickley again and took pictures. We ate at suchhh a yummy restaurant called Mambo Italia. I did a lot of shopping in November, there were multiple mall trips! We celebrated Gemma's birthday at Coop DeVille in Pittsburgh and I crushed at duck pin bowling. I packed up, fake tanned, and headed to Arizona to see Andrew. I traveled all alone! Seeing him was so unreal. I'll link my Arizona travel blog here for the full details. I have all the photos from the trip and more in that post. It was just so happy. I wish I would've been able to stay longer or go earlier, but before I knew it I was back home getting swabbed for Thanksgiving! I spent Thanksgiving with family and ate tons of food. I went Black Friday shopping with my mom, sisters, aunt, and cousins at The Outlets. It was so much fun and we got the best deals. That was also the month I got my Astoria partnership!

DECEMBER

I started a new babysitting job in December! It is most likely going to carry out through January until I go back to school too! I took my finals online and school was officially done for the semester! Andrew finally came home!!! I went to the mall, ate Chinese food, and made cookies. We went out to Firebirds for Friendsgiving because COVID started to kick back up again and it was easier than having a whole dinner at someone's house. We took family Christmas pictures that same day and then Andrew and I drove to the light show in Butler. It was awesome, and taking hot chocolate for the drive is a MOVE. I babysat more, bought more presents, and saw Andrew! Thennnnn I came down with corona. I quarantined in my room for what felt like forever. Nobody else in my family got it, which is shocking because I had been around them all up until I went to get tested. Thank goshhh my doctor said I only had to quarantine for 10 days and not 14, so we were still able to be with family for Christmas! I got to see Andrew's family on Christmas Eve too. Christmas Day was awesome and super special. I even whipped out a Santa Suit I bought at Party City for the baby, who was definitely afraid of it hahaha. Andrew and I wore our matching Christmas pjs and gave each other our gifts❤️. Olivia and I finally got to get food from Wahlburger's, which we've been trying to do with Katie since Olivia's birthday in November! It was so yummy and we definitely have to go back with Katie. Their impossible burgers are so good. We went to the mall after for a little too. Olivia came back here where we watched a scary movie with Eva. That brings us to yesterday, where I relaxed more with my family and did Eva's makeup with Gemma. Andrew came over and we went in the hot tub and watched a movie! Tomorrow is already NYE and we will be spending it with family and Andrew of course!❤️

That took way longer than expected haha! There was just so many little memories I wanted to document and share from this year. It was a crazy one but really a great one. I'm so thankful for my family and my friends and everyone that helped to make the best of 2020.

Thank you all for reading and I hope you all have a great New Year's Eve and Day! See ya in 2021!

-Bella 🖤
